Snowmobiling days here in the Keweenaw are definitely numbered now that we're heading into the second week of March. But from what I hear there's still enough snow for a bit of riding around on the trails. These shots from Karen and Doug Spaeth were taken a few weeks earlier, before we were treated to the warmer temps we experienced this past week. The first one shows how even when the roads around here are getting fixed up, you're able to get around the congestion if you can hop on a snowmobile and go around it. That might mean over the river and through the woods, which brings me to the second shot. This photo illustrates the proper way to cross over the Portage Lake Shipping Canal, by going UNDER the bridge, not over the ice. Kind of interesting to see the underside of the bridge again!

"Cool" shots. A lot more fun for Sprin break than what we have here. Sun and nothing else. It's already 55.

You guys sure do have a lot of snow left yet. We have next to nothing. Have a great weekend everybody!

Love the pic of under the bridge. Definately no snow here to mention...as temps are in the high 60's today.Temps will be back in the 30's come Tuesday and we may be fortunate enough to see some snow :)
