It’s a day of various degrees and coatings of ice around Lake Superior. Chris Koskiniemi starts us out back in 2007, with a shoreline shot somewhere in the Keweenaw. The snow covered rocks and the churning water give you a chill just looking at them.

In 2010, we get a look at some ice fishing going on out on Keweenaw Bay. They’re drilling the holes through the thick ice, so they can get down to the fun part of winter fishing. Neat to see the Baraga buildings in the background, too.

Traveling east in the U.P. we end up at the Hiawatha National Forest and the Eben Ice Caves, with Brenda Leigh and her hubby, Jim. That’s the two of them on the outside, looking in through the ice. Seems like there’s always a good coating of ice for the ice caves there.

Our last two photos from Jeff LaMuth look like they could be taken in the same spot as the Eben Ice Cave shot above, but they aren’t. Jeff and some friends were in the Freda area, checking out the ice cliffs there and doing a bit of climbing, too. The beauty in these shots is outstanding with the icy cliffs and the wavy clouds.

All this talk of ice and fishing, too, we might as well go out on the ice of Lake Superior and watch a fisherman catch a nice Lake Trout back in 2014. Best part of this fishing trip, is no cold feet or fingers.

Great pix and a suspenseful, "What will come out?" video.

More and more dangerous ice caves. Are you trying to scare the heck out of me?

Mary,
I sure am glad you don't have on hand a bunch of pictures of clowns.

Unless...the clowns have earned a degree from Silly U.
