This time of year here in the Copper Country, the weather is unpredictable. Snow one day, frost the next and fog in between are just a few of the weather scenes. The archive shots are good examples of that, starting with one from Roger Kangas back in 2003. He captured this little cutie all bundled up against the snow and cold. There isn't quite enough white stuff on the ground for making a snowman yet, but it doesn't look like she cares one way or the other.

Then in 2011, Patty Rheault snapped a shot of a frosty spider web near her home, with a number of pumpkins from her garden decorating the sidewalk still. You can see there's a morning frost in the air, too.

Two years later, in 2013, Aladino Mandoli took a walk along the Houghton Waterfront trail with a light fog hanging over the Canal and trees. That's one of the Coast Guard boats he snapped while it was cruising by. It doesn't really matter what the weather is doing, it's still a good place to watch it all happening.

Looking at the here and now, we've had some snow and it sure looks pretty in pictures, like this one from Sharon Bodenus, , that she snapped of the Marquette Lighthouse bordered in white from the snow and the clouds. At the time of this writing there was no snow on the ground here in Lake Linden, but higher elevations still have some, from what I hear.

So yes, the weather here UP North is quite fickle. But then, one of the main reasons people give for living UP here is the changing of the seasons and getting to experience all four of them. Today's video from Family Heritage Living has footage of some fall colors and then progresses to the change in season to winter, with their kids enjoying the first of the snow for the season.

Very nice set of pix and video! I liked the cat that was taking it's owner for a walk.

It is not death or dying which is tragic, but rather to have existed without fully participating in life__that is the deepest personal tragedy.

I love every one of these pictures. And yep, that
little boy with his cat was adorable. The cat was
nearly as big as he was. So cute.

Interesting, no Mary Drew (Mdrew) and no Charlie (Chopper) today.
I guess today's pictures and video just posted all by themselves!
😉

Not sure what happened on Tuesday, Frnash, but my notes are there now...better late than never, I guess. :-)

I publish the Pasty Cam every morning, and on Tuesday I was in Canada on a tethered cell connection, something this aging editor has never done before. I remember submitting the notes from Mary, my data was roaming, and it must have not gone through. But we can still say we've never missed a day without something new on the Pasty Cam since March 1, 1998.

The sales of our pasties have had a motto from the beginning with our first shipments in 1996: "Supporting care for the elderly in the UP". Doing it this long, it was bound to happen: some of us who bring you this website have become the elderly :o)
