Wouldn't it be fun to compile all the different subjects that photos encompassed here on the Pasty Cam in the past 19 years and then tally up totals to see what the most frequently shared subjects have been? Sounds like a daunting task, actually, so we'll just continue sharing them as we go, instead. We're looking at weather in the U.P. today, starting with a photo shared by Mary Baril that she snapped back in 2007. That's a stop sign and One Way sign on Fifth Street in Calumet, bent right in half after a dandy wind storm we had. Amazing what the forces of Mother Nature can do.

Barb Bouwkamp captured a weather event out at Rice Lake in 2009, with an early morning haze/fog hanging over the water. It gives the scene a somewhat eerie appearance, don't you think?

Our third photo was taken by Chris Gariepy on a jet ski trip off the tip of the Keweenaw, out to Manitou Island. That's on the eastern end of the Island where the Manitou Island Light Station is located.

As long as were on Manitou Island, we might as well check out Gull Rock Lighthouse on the western end of the Island. Today's video was recorded in 2011 when the roof restoration was taking place. It gives a good look at the weather on the tiny little island, a half mile off Manitou, where the Lighthouse is and what a job like replacing the roof out there entails

Really enjoyed the trip to the lighthouse. An amazing amount of work to repair the roof.

Nice photos, review, and video! I recognize 2002, one of my favorite parks! The video is very interesting, and quite the task! It can be a bit eeerrriee out there. I often wondered what I'd do if we ever had engine trouble on the boat and jet skis out there, lucky we made it back each time.
