Weather here UP North is dynamic... you'll often hear folks say, "If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes, it will change." Throughout the past 19 years we've featured all kinds of weather related photos, but it just so happens on this day there were a number of years with clouds featured.

Starting in 2008, Robert C. Wetton shared a beautifully colored Bootjack sky, complete with "red" clouds from the setting sun. "Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight." This evening skyline suggests a nice day to follow.

Four years later, in 2012, Bill Howard was on Lake Superior's shore at Sunset Bay Campground in the Keweenaw when this storm cloud rolled in. Quite the dramatic photo, looking like the cloud is going to swallow the shoreline.

The last shot was featured in 2014, when Kathy Archambeau was watching the clouds moving swiftly through the skies, beginning with this white puffy arrangement. Mother Nature sure keeps us on our toes here in the Copper Country when it comes to changing skies and weather.

Lots of storms across the country today ~ be careful out there Pasty Camers!

I love cloud pictures. I knew the first one had
to be Bob's. Too many people are suffering due to
storms right now. Clouds are beautiful until they
turn dangerous.

Great photos and video! I love watching wild
weather, and I don't mind getting soaked with
rain while watching it come in off the big lake.
But Deb's right; things can get dangerous in a
hurry, with lightning being the biggest threat. I
learned years ago that storm chasers don't like
to get near wire fence of any kind, because
lightning can hit it a long way away and jump to
anyone standing near it. I've got lots of wire
fence around my yard, including a stretch of it
that runs up a dune with big white pines on top,
reaching up into the sky. So I do most of my
storm watching from inside the house.

Cloud pictures are fun to look at. They come in more shapes than pasta does. I remember laying outside in the grass watching the clouds roll by and looking for one that looked like some other animate or inanimate object. The storms they bring these days are more intense and larger in scope than in the past. I'm sure Mother Earth has endured this before but there wasn't billions of people that had to endure it also.
