When Sally Beaudette's Grandkids come to visit, a trip to the deer feeding area in Bootjack is in order. The little ones get to see the incoming deer up close and personal, while the deer get a much needed lunch during the cold winter days. Win-win situation all around.

Looks like these lucky deer have a good gig going, too, with pellets, apples, cabbage and the like to munch on. Not only do the kids check out the deer, but you can see in today's photos, that the deer do their share of "checking out" the humans, too. Just making sure they're all friendly visitors, I'm sure.

These are wonderful pictures! I wonder who is
enjoying this more, the kids or the deer?

We did that as kids with our grandparents. Remember
"Delf's Landing" in Rice Lake?? Those were such
awesome times for us kids...oh wow!! The BEST
memories...Way to go Sally Beaudette and those
Grands! Just incredible! As it should be!!!

Really nice to see, help them get through that tough U.P. winter!!
As many years that I was at LB... "Hunting"...lol I couldn't never shoot one, I always just loved being in the U.P. and at the camp, and the camaraderie with the boys! I enjoyed 4 wheelin thru the woods more than anything! I do understand and respect the need for game management and one feeding the family.

Great Pic's Sally!!

Nice pix! Just wondering if those are sugar beets that I see on the ground. If so, they need to be chopped up into bite-sized pieces so that the deer can get them into their mouths. Deer can't bite into hard food, because their jaws are to weak...so I heard.
