I don't think there is anyone more excited about the snow arriving here in the Copper Country, than the kiddos. Jennifer Niedzwiecki said her kids are loving the return of the white stuff and if a picture really does tell a story, these here today certainly reflect that joy.

From snowball fights, to painting in the snow, to building a snowman with heart, the fun goes on and on with possibilities. Even the family dog joins in the play, making sure the kids are having a good time and safe, too. But that's not the only benefit, right? Just getting youngsters away from the screens and outside in the fresh air is such a bonus, parents have to say "hooray for snow!"

Wow, Jennifer and family sure go all out with the snow fun! Very inventive and artistic! And yes, getting outside in the fresh air is the best part!

Just simply awesome!!!

By Duane P. (Islandman43) on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 - 09:42 pm:

It's nice to see the smiling, exuberant faces enjoying the outdoors and the snow. I like the snowball making machines:)

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 - 10:06 pm:

That looks like lots of fun! I wish I could throw a snowball at Capt. Paul... Unfortunately, I am far from home, a stranger living in the strange land known as Texas. How I miss our home in Red Jacket Shaft!

Fun pictures! They wouldn't like it here. The
wind chill is at 2, if not colder. I'd rather have
the snow. It even looks warmer there.

Kids and the doggie having fun in the snow; how wonderful is that.

I never thought I be saying this but here in in Northern Illinois we've received way more snow. Set new records for November in many places. Here in the Quad Cities we got 10 inches Sunday night. It's almost gone now and I'm 100% positive our lead will be gone for the remainder of the season.

Even after living in the Keweenaw, I still HATE snow.

Now we all can get ready for the Arctic cold coming.

That's the first snowman I've seen in a while.
Only 102 days until spring.

By Stewart Keskitalo (Skeskitalo) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 08:19 am:

I hope they enjoyed panking the snow around the snowman to make him take his shape!

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 09:03 am:

Hi
Snow you can play with. Dead grass and mud, seasoned with freezing, or even merely cold, rain are not going to generate any such pictures of smiling kids.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 11:08 am:

Stewart: I'm surprised to see someone use the word "panking"; back before they plowed roads large rollers pulled by horses were used to "pank" the snow. It was called "panking", not packing.

Daveofmohawk,
I always get odd looks from people when i say 'panking'! But that's ok, they already know i'm odd.

By Just me (Jaby) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 04:33 pm:

OH what FUN pictures. Kids enjoy the snow so much!

By Martha Kirk (Misschiefie) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 06:43 pm:

I tried to use the word pank in a Scrabble game once and was challenged. One of my opponents, from Norway in the U.P., said, "Of course it's a word." My troll opponents said it wasn't. Unfortunately, it's not in Websters. L

By D. A. (Midwested) on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 07:18 pm:

I simply can't keep my mind from wandering to a
scene from "The Little Rascals" where Spanky's
little brother always acknowledged his big brother
by saying, "Otay Panky".

Go ahead. Try to say panking without now thinking
of The Little Rascals.

Martha Kirk (Misschiefie):
"… Unfortunately, [PANK] isn't in Websters."

Perhaps even worse, it's not in the (click →) "Official Scrabble Players Dictionary", either!
