When Barb Bouwkamp is out at Big Traverse, her morning walk with Parker is different than when they're in town. The beach is their highway and the treasures they find along the way are different. In today's top photo, they've found some new driftwood that Lake Superior has washed ashore. I bet it crossed Parker's mind that this would be a great stick for playing catch, that is until he was next to it and he realized how big it really is.

Barb's next two photos are something she started working on after taking a class four or five years ago, where they drilled holes in these special logs and put mushroom stuff in them, sealed with wax and then waited…and waited. It seemed like nothing was happening with those logs. Barb's husband wanted to burn them since they had been sitting there for all that time with nothing happening. So Barb went to check on the mushroom logs and lo and behold, there were finally mushrooms growing out of the logs.

So now the question is, are they edible and who wants to try them out with Barb?
