When it comes to growing corn, it looks like Patty Rheault and her family have a green thumb. But wait…if you look closely at those first three photos, it looks like something else is growing in the corn field. I see children...Patty calls them "Children of the Corn". What a lucky Grandma that she can just grow kids in her corn patch and pretty cute ones at that!

The remaining photos give us a look around the rest of the garden, which looks to be growing quite lush and green. There is plenty of TLC going on in this garden, you can plainly see that. Lots of hard work planting, weeding and as you can see in Patty's last photo, harvesting, too. Reaping the benefits of all that labor has begun. YUM!!

What grows faster, the kids or the corn?

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, August 4, 2016 - 11:36 am:

You can see what they have a beautiful garden (besides all their hard work): a BIG fence!!

It all looks so good!

Sweet corn season is a favorite and eating peas
right out of the garden is a good time. There has
been field corn here in Eastern Iowa that is
topping 14 ft. tall.

That reminds me of that quote from that movie:

"If you build it, they will.... (in this case)

eat!!

I used to plant corn, but all end up with was a bumper crop of raccoons.

Those corn fields are amazing! The stalks are tall enough to make a maze.

So what are those kids doing in there?

'Stalking' each other through the 'maize', of course!
