I recently received an email from John Dodge requesting help to get the word out about a local photo contest for non-professional photographers of all ages. To enter, the photos need to have been taken anytime between September 2015 and September 2016 and have to be submitted between May 31 and September 26, 2016.

Here's what John had to say in his request:

As you may recall, I have been leading some Worldwide Photowalks over the past few years and Pasty Cam has been terrific in helping me get out the word.

Now I am helping the North Woods Conservancy, based in Ahmeek, to conduct a photo contest this summer. The contest objective is to raise awareness of NWC and their five Natural areas by inducing locals and visitors to the Copper Country to go out to one of the Natural areas, take some photos and submit them to the contest. The contest is free and there are some nice prizes.

I have attached a file, NWC Photo Contest Press Release (seen in the fourth photo above), that explains the details of the photo contest. We think one of the best ways to encourage people to participate is to conduct a guided photo walk at some of the Natural areas. I will lead the first one which is at Seven Mile Point on May 29th. I have also attached a file Photowalk Event Announcement (seen in the fifth photo) with directions and details. Finally, I have included 3 photos from the 2015 contest. Each of these photos was a first or second place winner.

So there you have it…again, the details for the contest are in photos number four and five above, including a phone number and email address for John Dodge, should you have any further questions about the contest or the walk being held this coming Sunday, May 29th.

I believe this coming Saturday is May 28.

Good catch, Alex. The photowalk is SUNDAY, May 29th at 1:00 PM.
Hope to see you all there. Forecast is possible rain. Unless it is
pouring rain, the contest will take place. Overcast skies and dramatic
cloud formations can make for some great photos. Yeah, I'm an
optimist.
