I mentioned yesterday about how we gauge Spring in the Copper Country and today here again, we have a good example of the difference from our area to other parts of the country where spring means flowers beginning to pop out and green grass starting to grow. Stacey Flood did a little mini tour over the weekend and shares a couple of "Spring" photos with us.

She actually took the first photo of the Phoenix Church on Sunday, the first day of Spring. The only hint that spring is on its way here is the water flowing, rather than still be frozen over. Despite the snow in spring, it is a beautiful shot!

The remaining two photos were taken the day before, on Saturday, so technically it wasn't spring yet. These were taken over on Louie's Point, which is on the opposite shoreline of where the Phoenix Church sits. You can see that this shoreline is virtually free of ice already, except for some remaining icicles and random piles of snow that the sun hasn't melted quite yet. My favorite is the bottom photo with the sandstone layers showing and the icicles acting like decorations along the edges. Beautiful indeed!

Wintry beauty to introduce Spring.

Can't beat any of those 3 pictures! The angle of the church is perfect and the open waters of our rocky shores are a welcome sign!

Looks like the Top o' the Mitt is going to get pounded starting this afternoon. Be safe everyone!

I like the last picture of the icicles that found a place to hide so they can hang out for a while longer.

I will never get tired of pictures of the Phoenix Church, one of my all time favorites. Hats off to the Historical Society and the many people involved in preserving it.

Omgosh, what gorgeous pictures. The
church one would make a beautiful
Christmas card.

A rarely seen angle on the Phoenix Church, that's for sure! And two other rarely seen views as well. Excellent! "Superior", even!
