Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, January 17, 2016 - 09:34 pm:

This happens to be where I spent the night last night. No, I wasn't the one being cared for, it was Edie instead. I was there among the group snowed-in for the night, advised not to drive to Eagle River with about 2 feet of fresh cover being dumped.

As you may know, Edie (my better half and co-producer of Day in History) has had some health challenges the past couple of years. This latest visit is because of a mild stroke, which temporarily affected her vision. In the bargain, she is also being treated for pneumonia. In good spirits, Edie asked me to say hi to the Pasty Cam family, and thanks for your prayers.

The bonus video is from the Portage website, with lots of local familiar faces. I had to laugh when the narrator's backdrop showed the snow sliding off the roof. Just like last night.

Have good week :o)

I pray Edie has a speedy recovery,Charlie. I am sure she would
rather be home .We will pray for her.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Sunday, January 17, 2016 - 09:53 pm:

Charlie, this news is hard to hear for those of us who think of you & Edie as part of the family. We pray for peace and comfort and healing and safety. And for the doctors caring for Edie. May you rest in His tender arms and know He cares for you.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 17, 2016 - 10:14 pm:

Oh Charlie. It's got to be so hard for the both
of you to be going through all of these medical
challenges. Know that the pasty family is
thinking about you and praying for better health
for the coming year.

It's fun to see the before and after pictures of
the hospital. Also love the woodpeckers and the
deer.

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Sunday, January 17, 2016 - 10:22 pm:

Amen to that, jbuck. Brings to mind the hymn, UNDER HIS WINGS I am safely abiding..... Keeping different family members in our prayers. And for friends in Florida's tornados.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, January 18, 2016 - 07:42 am:

Sending well wishes to you both!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, January 18, 2016 - 08:23 am:

Ditto to all of the above. And my respect to this medical facility for being friendly and courteous when needed.

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Monday, January 18, 2016 - 10:47 am:

Sending prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery for Edie, and peace and strength for you, Charlie.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Monday, January 18, 2016 - 12:15 pm:

I'm saying prayers for you and Edie too. You have been through
some really tough times. Hope Edie feels better soon and that you
can return home.

By Diana P. (Diana) on Monday, January 18, 2016 - 04:20 pm:

I can only echo all the heartfelt sentiments above, Charlie and Edie. You both have been on my daily prayer list, and I will redouble my efforts with this latest health challenge. May God bless you and keep you safe in His care.

By Greta Jones (Urbanescapees) on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 - 01:21 am:
