Today's first two photos are the view that Taana Kalliainen has from her home on the Keweenaw waterway at the Lower Entry to Portage Lake. Let's have a raise of hands for all those that would like to move in with Taana... just for the view of course! ;-)

Seriously, snow clouds in the photos or not, what an outstanding view and the bonus is when there is boating traffic, she gets a front row seat to that, too!

Taana's last two photos were taken from the Houghton side of the Portage Canal, looking across to Ripley. That looks like the H & Y Marina there with a number of boats out of the water and shrink wrapped in blue for the winter. And of course the bottom photo is Mont Ripley, surrounded by fall. So much beauty, but so short-lived.

Especially love those first two shots, Taana! Thank
you for sharing!

I'm with you Dunerat! The combination of the dark clouds and bright colors is fantastic!

I just love the colors of the trees reflected in
the water. What a wonderful moment to witness in
person! You'll always have the photos to remember
that beautiful scene.

WOW, what beauty!! Thank you, Taana, for sharing the view out your window, and thank you, Mary, for putting the pix on here for all of us to enjoy.

By Greta Jones (Urbanescapees) on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 - 12:18 pm:

Very nice. I like the second one the best!

By Duane P. (Islandman43) on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 - 12:44 pm:

I love your view. That is as nice as I've seen in awhile. When folks die and get to Heaven they can tell who are the Yoopers. We are the ones that want to go home.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 - 12:46 pm:

Beautiful pictures, the top 2 look like paintings!

Sweet pix, I say with raised hands! I'd like to move in with Taana...and of course Mary, just for the view. ;-)

Beautiful view! Like Alex.... just for the view of course as well! She sounds like a Finn! :=))

Spectacular photos. I so enjoy the fall colors and the

Duane--I've always figured that Heaven looked like the U.P.
After all, Heaven's area code is 906.
